Blair pledge falls on deaf ears
EDINBURGH (Reuters: British Prime Minister Tony Blair's pledge to quit within a year failed to heal rifts yesterday as his likely successor came under fire from a respected Labour Party heavyweight.

Bombs kill 32
MUMBAI, (Reuters): A series of bomb blasts in a Muslim-majority town in western India killed at least 32 people and wounded more than 70, mostly worshippers yesterday at Friday prayers, police said.


Naval blockade of Lebanon lifted
BEIRUT (Reuters): Israel lifted its eight-week sea blockade of Lebanon yesterday, handing control of the Lebanese coastline to an international naval task force.
