PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC):
The Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha (SDMS) has given the Trinidad and Tobago Government seven days to provide it with a radio licence or face the prospect of being sued for contempt of court.
SDMS general secretary Satnarayan Maharaj has written Attorney-General John Jeremie saying that more than two months after the London-based Privy Council had ruled in its favour regarding a radio licence for the country's biggest Hindu organisation, it had still not received the licence.
In the letter, sent through its lawyers, the SDMS has accused the Government of acting in bad faith and disrespecting the order of the Privy Council, Trinidad and Tobago's highest court.
