Isabelle's for the ultimate in pampering
published: Monday | September 18, 2006

Barbara Ellington, Lifestyle Editor

Jan R. Lawe.

It's like visiting a friend in a cosy home, with many notable exceptions. You are pampered, and your senses come alive as you relax to the sounds of soothing music; you are served a fresh fruit plate after treatment and you ultimately fall asleep. That's what happens with a visit to Isabelle's. It's no wonder their tagline states: Exceeding your Expectations."

Sunday September 11 was my turn to be pampered and the prescription was the spa's seaweed wrap and a manicure. Spa Director, Jan Lawe is the essence of calm, welcoming aura as she beckoned me inside the country-styled house converted into a state-of-the art spa. From wooden floors to soft curtains and fluffy cushions, efficient and courteous staff, it's all as they say - good.

"You just need to show up for your special spa party," Mrs. Lawe told Flair. She provides games, gourmet meals (depending on what client chooses) and of course treatments. Mrs. Lawe will shop for shower gifts at an added cost and each hostess receives a parting gift. The spa also offers, hair and nail care. And, gift certificates are available for those who prefer to go that route.

European facials

Clients just must check out the European facials that are gaining popularity in the year and a half since opening. If you spend more than half day, lunch is served and during the month of September, Isabelle's is offering a free paraffin manicure along with whatever the client comes for. (See details in the Sunday and Financial Gleaners).

"We also offer mobile spa parties for persons who feel more comfortable at home; we come to your place and set it up just like the spa," she said. Treatments such as massages last a full hour and prices start at $4000.00.

For a comprehensive price list as well a more of what is available, visit Isabelle's at: 18 Rochester Avenue, Kingston 8 or telephone them at: 924-2345/0767.
