Spanish Town, St. Catherine:

THREE red cards were shown by referee Hughill Thompson as the Wray and Nephew National Premier League match between home side Naggo Head and Boys' Town ended 0-0 at Ferdie Neita Park.

Boys' Town completed the game with nine men after Oneil Thompson (53rd minute) and Troy Dawes (59th minute) were ejected. Carlos Barnes of Naggo Head was sent off in the 70th minute. The match which was played before a large crowd was characterised by rough play from both teams.

Debutants Naggo Head took charge of the early proceedings with several exciting combinations from the likes of Walter Boyd, Fabian Malcolm and Kirk Porter.

Rough tackle

The standard of play deteriorated in the second half. Thompson was sent off for a second bookable offence following a rough tackle.

Dawes was given marching orders for a foul followed by dissent. Despite having a numerical advantage for most of the half Naggo Head failed to capitalise.

Boys' Town's coach Andrew Price was happy for the point.

"We came here to play football and I must commend the players that despite the vociferous crowd they still played well and even with nine men managed to eke out a point which is better than none."

His counterpart Harold Thomas was disappointed.

"Even with our numerical advantage the players did not capitalise. They did not play to instructions, instead they kept kicking the ball from defence to forward, bypassing the midfield."

Of note several players were injured on the pitch. Two had to seek medical attention. Germaine Bailey of Boys' Town suffered an injury to his eye and had to be rushed to hospital. Andre Wheeler also had to be taken off in the 45th minute for severe injury to his leg.
