Take note of the positives
published: Thursday | September 21, 2006

The Editor, Sir:

I have noted a number of articles and letters speaking to the issue of members of government boards acquiring contracts.

It should be noted that in a democratic and apparently open system like ours, it is not a chairman alone that makes up a board and so what applies for the chairman should apply to all board members as the chairman is a director elected according to board principles.

In addition, the Prime Minister's maiden speech at King's House spoke to the issue of stamping out corruption. As such, to continue this practice can only lead to further corruption and is working against the wishes of the Most Honourable Prime Minister. Over to you, Mr. Paulwell.

I am, etc.,

K. LAWSON
