The Editor, Sir:
I write this letter to encourage our men. About two months ago, I was awakened on three successive nights with a great heaviness and concern for my people. The thoughts flowed through my mind that we are demanding too much from our men when they were never taught manhood by anyone. They have consistently been bashed by each other and by women.
Bashing males is a bandwagon of all organisations, even by the church that is supposed to teach them. Let us stop this nonsense now because most of what is being said is exaggerated. The truth is, most of our males want to be real men and want to be taught. Let us teach and encourage rather than criticise them. Somehow, we have learned to treat our men like stones and our women like cherries. In the end, both are hurt. It does not make sense.
The deepest human emotions are in the hearts of men, and even more so because they are conditioned not to cry - but they do. Let us help our men.
Men, I say to you, be strong and of good courage. Use what you have to do the best you can and God will help you to do more. Our prayers are with you. You are not alone. Your God and Father cares for you.
I am, etc.,
