This year, you can ensure that your favourite Miss World representative makes it to the final 16 by voting for her online.

The 104 contestants in the Miss World pageant have been distributed in six regional groups, and the top two of each group will advance to the finals. This year, the audience will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite in each geographical region. The most voted contestants will advance to the top 16 semi-finalists.

Here is how the finalists will be selected this year:

Six winners from each geographical region chosen by SMS and Internet votes;

Six contestants from each region chosen by a panel of judges;

Four winners from each of the fast-track events.

All this totals 16 semi-finalists.

In addition, this year's Miss World contestants have been allocated numbers. The number for Sara Lawrence, Miss Jamaica World 2006, is MW408. There are two methods for voting: One is by phone or SMS (text messaging), however, this feature is not available for the Caribbean region; or online at www.missworld.com.
