The prestigious PAHO Sagicor Award 2006 for the Best Story on Non-Communicable Diseases was copped by Your Health's team of health writers for our 'Battle of the bulge' series. The award will be presented today at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, New Kingston.

The series was conceived and developed by Eulalee Thompson and Wendel Abel and implemented in conjunction with Trudy Simpson, Rosalee Brown, Kenneth Gardner and the University of the West Indies' Tropical Metabolism Research Institute.

This special PAHO Sagicor Award gives credit to stories about interesting prevention and control initiatives taken at the individual, family or community level.
