Excommunication
published: Saturday | September 30, 2006

Reuters

Roman Catholic Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo, Archbishop Emeritus of Luksaka, Zambia (second right), accompanied by married Roman Catholic bishops, discusses his excommunication from the Catholic Church for his efforts to restore married priests back into the church during a news conference at the Imani Temple on Capitol Hill in Washington on Wednesday.

The Vatican said Milingo was 'automatically excomm-unicated' under church law for the ordinations Sunday at a church in Washington, D.C.
