Jamaica, still in with a chance of winning the 2006 Caribbean Women's Rugby 15's Championship, tackle defending champions Trinidad and Tobago in a do-or-die clash at the University of West Indies, Mona Bowl today. Match time is 4:00 p.m.

The Jamaicans on Thursday were beaten 6-5 by Guyana, who on Saturday lost to Trinidad and Tobago 15-8 at the same venue.

Much-needed points

A win for Jamaica today would take them to five points, the same as Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, which boasts a plus seven goal difference. Jamaica and Guyana both have a minus one goal difference.

Jamaica's coach, Herman Cole, who had openly stated his desire for Trinidad and Tobago to beat Guyana, said his team is back on track.

"We are still in the competition, so we are going all out to beat Trinidad and Tobago," Cole said. "We are going out to play hard."

Meanwhile, Kitty Andrews, coach of the twin-island republic, said: "We will again come out and try to play a structured and composed game."

She said the Jamaicans also play a hard game, but her team is willing to work hard to defend its title.

In Saturday's game, Trinidad and Tobago, who led 10-0 at the half, defeated Guyana 15-8. Jenilee Limada in the 12th minute, Angela Joseph-Darceuil, 29th, and Jamilah Garcia in the 72nd minute scored tries for Trinidad and Tobago.

Delica Ferdinand with a 73rd-minute try and Andrea Lashley's 46th-minute penalty accounted for the losing Guyana team's points.
