Ardenne High ranks 8th in CXC English language exam
published: Sunday | October 8, 2006

Education reform advocate Dr. Ralph Thompson has apologised for inadvertently omitting Ardenne High School from the top-10 performing traditional schools in English language in the 2006 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations ranking.

Special congratulations

According to Dr. Thompson, Ardenne's score in the English language examination was 88.34 per cent, which would rank it as number eigh in the top-10 list.

"Ardenne should be specially congratulated for allowing 94 per cent of its cohort to sit the English exam and a remarkable 98 per cent to sit their mathematics exam," said Dr. Thompson.

He also noted that in the English language ranking for technical schools, the positions of Dinthill and Herbert Morrison were mistakenly reversed. Herbert Morrison scored 20.64 per cent, putting it in first place, while Dinthill's score of 16.12 per cent puts it in second place.
