Clash of 'Kings' on the road

TODAY'S UPLIFTMENT Jamaica 5K, the second race of the 2006 Foska Oats/Jam-dammers Grand Prix Series, will feature the clash of two 'Kings of the Road'.

Reigning 'King of The Road' Wainard Talbert and former 'King of the Road' Linton McKenzie will come face-to-face when the race runs off at Goodyear Oval in St. Thomas at 3:00 p.m.

After one race - the Foska Oats 5K - Talbert leads the male category in the series with 21 points. He is followed by Kemoy Campbell of Bellefield High (19 points) and Andre Drummonds of UTech (18).

Rupert Green, Andrew Gutzmore, Phillip Edwards, Jason Saunders, Kevin Campbell, Kirk Edwards, Damion Bent, Conroy Crossman and Richard Barrett, all top 10 finishers from the Foska Oats 5K, should once again be challengers.

FEMALE CONTENDERS

In the female division, Natoya Goule of Manchester High leads with 21 points. She is followed by Tanice Barnett of UWI with 19 points and Areita Martin (18 points).

Rosemari Aldridge, Tamica Thomas, Taneisha Davis, Petrona Layne, Nadine Henry, Keniesha Jones and Niesha Morgan were top 10 finishers at the last race and should once again finish prominently.

In the high school cham-pionship's boys' category, Bellefield High lead the pack on 21 points followed by Edwin Allen High on 19 and Man-chester High on 18.

The girls' category of the high school championship is led by Vere Technical on 21 points, followed by Holmwood Tech-nical (19) and Edwin Allen High (18).
