The Editor Sir:
Having just read 'Making a memorable childhood' by freelance writer Melville Cooke, I just have to write and say that I have, at last, seen the lighter side of this man. - no pun intended! Your regular readers know all too well that this rather touching article is not Mr. Cooke's normal style!
For once, I hear his words coming from a man with a heart full of love who cares deeply as a parent - a parent just like myself where colour, class and creed are of no significance - and regardless of these things, we are all simply trying to do our best to love our kids and create those memories, hoping that by some chance they may just remember some of them.
Thanks for letting me see the sweeter side of you Mr. Cooke. I always hoped you would one day!
I am, etc.,
TRACEY McNAIR.
