Camels for Dolphin Cove
published: Monday | October 16, 2006

The sight of 10 camels being ushered into a specially quarantined area of the Norman Manley International Airport recently might have caused a few raised eyebrows. But, nothing to worry about, says Roger Clarke, Minister of Agriculture and Lands.

Mr. Clarke told The Gleaner yesterday that the animals, which arrived in the island from the United States last week, were secluded as part of the normal quarantine procedures to check for diseases. They are now at Dolphin Cove, St. Ann, as part of the company's attraction programme.

When The Gleaner contacted Dolphin Cove yesterday, a female employee said the manager was off-duty and she could not give all the details on the camels.

However, she noted that the camels were now at Prospect Plantation, St. Mary, a property operated by Dolphin Cove.
