Reno hammered in three goals of the highest order to make a spectacular rally and hammer Naggo Head 3-1 in their Wray and Nephew National Premier League match at St. Elizabeth Technical High School yesterday.
It was a fairly competitive game in which both teams played good football, but Reno were a bit more disciplined and clinical.
Kirk Ramsey gave Naggo Head the lead in the 24th minute when he received a pass on the top of the 18-yard box and side-footed home.
Reno equalised in the 35th minute through Kendrie Quarrie. His diagonal left-footed effort from about 45 yards looped over the goalkeeper, Troy Watson, who was off his line.
Reno by now were having the better of play and their superiority told in the 70th minute when Nicholi Findlayson, about 30 yards from goal, controlled the ball then struck it cleanly with the instep. It beat goalie Watson and dipped into the net.
If Findlayson's goal was beauitiful, then the third by Gary McIntosh at the 77th minute was even better. The dangerous Quarrie broke down the left flank and served up a lovely cross which McIntosh met on the volley just inside the 18-yards box to the far side of goal. He struck it across the goalkeeper inside the post from the direction in which the cross had come. Watson had no chance.
