The Editor, Sir:
I am somewhat perplexed as to why the local cinemas do not see it fit or even important to bring to the local arena the latest Christian movie, One Night with the King, depicting the true story of Esther.
Is it the fact that because this particular movie is not replete with guns, blood, gore and controversy, means that it is not worth bringing to the Jamaican public? There are those of us, Christians and non-Christians, who enjoy going to the cinemas. However, not everyone is drawn by violence, controversy and those movies depicting immoral acts of man. In fact, I would imagine, that most prefer the opposite.
On speaking with the two major cinema houses, one does not have the picture on the horizon at all, the other has posters, but no opening date.
From the trailer viewed, there is something in this movie for everyone. I, therefore, implore the local cinema houses to continue their trend, and give the people what they want; and a lot of us want to see this movie.
I am, etc.,
