TRINIDAD & TOBAGO: British paper hits 'sunbathing cops'
published: Thursday | October 26, 2006

TRINIDAD & TOBAGO: (Trinidad Express)

England newspaper Daily Mail Tuesday lambasted a group of Scotland Yard officers for splurging and wasting money while here recently to seek the public's help in finding a serial rapist who stalked elderly women in England for close to 15 years. The report, written by Natheus Sanchez, knocked the officers for spending too much time relaxing at the Hilton Trinidad hotel, where they stayed, rather than actually conducting interviews which could help them crack the case.

"It was supposed to be part of Operation Minstead, Scotland Yard's huge hunt for a serial sex attacker who has preyed on dozens of elderly people around London since 1990. After DNA evidence traced the roots of the so-called Night Stalker to the Caribbean, a five-strong team of detectives flew out to Trinidad last week to 'liaise with local officers' and make a public appeal for information.
