A special treat awaits at Acropolis
published: Thursday | October 26, 2006

The city will be abuzz November 11-18 as diners take advantage of the slashed prices at some of their favourite restaurants across Kingston

This is the second year of the highly successful Kingston Restaurant Week (KRW), and patrons are in for a special treat at the Acropolis.

It is deliberate that the Acropolis was put in a category by themselves, 'High Rollers'. Unlike any other participant, there will be scheduled live entertainment every night for that week. Patrons will be wooed in song, entertained by comedy and dance, in addition to the chance of winning nightly prizes. It promises to be an exciting week of entertainment, and not to mention the delectable fare that will be offered. There will be 2 seatings each night at 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. Reservations are highly recommended.

Following KRW savoury cuisine, juicy jackpots and tasteful entertainment will be staples at the Acropolis Gaming and Entertainment Centre. The first-rate facility is opened every day from 11:00 a.m. and offers an exciting lunch menu up to 4:00 p.m. daily, and dinner that goes until 11:30 p.m. And with an extra serving of their weekly Sunday Brunch, which features live entertainment 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., to which families are welcome, Kingston's entertainment and dining options just got better. However, patrons under the age of 18 years are not permitted on the gaming floor. Look out for an early Christmas present, as diners will soon be able to enjoy regular live entertainment complemented by exciting promotions.

Food for thought

The lunch menu offers a Jamaican fare with the regular curried goat, oxtail, stew peas, in addition to a variety of soups, salads and sandwiches.

Dinner is delightful with a Caribbean-inspired international cuisine, such as Medallion of Beef Tenderloin served with layers of Ackee and Callaloo, or try the delectable Coconut Crusted Shrimp with a Tomato Rundown Sauce.

With an array of mouth-watering dishes from which to choose, there's that one dish that will keep you coming back for more.

After dinner, patrons can lyme at the bar and enjoy an after-dinner cocktail, or try their luck on the slots where they might just hit the next jackpot! Patrons may call the Acropolis at 978-1299 to make reservations or for more information.
