SOUTH AFRICA: PW Botha is dead
JOHANNESBURG (Reuters): Former South African President P.W. Botha, the defiant face of white rule at the height of the anti-apartheid struggle, died at his home yesterday aged 90, the South African Press Association (SAPA) reported.

BEIJING (Reuters): North Korea agreed yesterday to return to six-party talks on dismantling its atomic weapons just weeks after staging its first nuclear test, drawing cautious welcome from President George W. Bush and Asian powers.
