West Indies players failed to gain selection to the International Cricket Council's World One-Day International and Test Teams-of-the-Year when the announcement was made at the ICC Awards ceremony yesterday.
Indian captain Rahul Dravid was chosen to captain the Test team while Sri Lankan Mahela Jayawardene was selected to lead the ODI Team-of-the-Year.
The Test team is dominated by six Australians led by Ricky Ponting and including Matthew Hayden, Michael Hussey, Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee as 12th man.
Australia also copped the most players on the ODI team with Ponting, Hussey, Adam Gilchrist, Lee and Andrew Symonds all included in the 12-man squad.
In addition to the distinction of being selected to both teams, Ponting also walked away with the Player-of-the-Year and Test Player-of-the-Year.
Hussey grabbed the ODI Player-of-the-Year award while England's Ian Bell was selected as the Emerging Player-of-the-Year. Sri Lanka's Mahela Jayawardene was named as Captain-of-the-Year.
England was given the Spirit of Cricket Award for the second successive year while Simon Taufel secured the Umpire-of-the-Year Award for the third successive year.
