LETTER OF THE DAY - Time for 'all-out war on violent crime'
The Editor, Sir: Last weekend, a friend called to tell me that a little eight-year-old girl, a classmate of her own daughter, was tied up by men who had invaded her home and she then watched as her parents were killed.

The Editor, Sir: For many decades the importance of early childhood was seldom advocated in Jamaica. Currently, emphasis is beginning to be placed on this critical area of the education system.

Concerned about Jamaica's crime problem

The Editor, Sir: I am a very concerned citizen and I cannot keep silent about the escalating crime and violence. Many years ago, when someone died it was of great concern and people would travel miles to see the body.


PM should call a general election

The Editor, Sir: When I reviewed the current Jamaica economic and social situation in the round, I came to the conclusion that the Prime Minister must now call a general election. The current Prime Minister is not competent enough....
