Fuel for KRW fires
published: Thursday | November 9, 2006

Gwyneth Davidson, Gleaner Writer

Under every good stew and every grill is a clean, steady flame; and most restaurants depend on the industry leader, Gas Pro, for the fuel to produce dishes cooked to optimum quality and flavour.

Marketing manager at Gas Pro, Peter Graham, noted that reliability has made them the choice of restaurateur's islandwide.

"Our commercial customers want to know that they will never run out of gas. This is especially so for hotels and restaurants on the north coast, and those that open late at night. Our staff are trained to address technical issues that are associated with commercial customers. We are also the only supplier who is independent. We have our own facility in Montego Bay and our customers islandwide do not have to worry if there are traffic delays from Kingston."

Gas Pro is a subsidiary of Neal and Massey, one of the largest companies in the Caribbean that was built on product diversity. Their Gas Pro brand recently assumed Shell's Jamaican LPG portfolio, giving customers large and small the same product quality and technical support for their purchase.

Mr. Graham says, "Gas Pro gives the same quality and standard LPG as you are accustomed to with Shell cooking gas".

Customer loyalty a priority

Managing Director, Deen Boopath, never assumed that customer loyalty would follow the rebranding, and it has been a priority with him to visit the commercial customers and many of the 2000 cylinder dealers. In addition, Gas Pro has committed itself to supporting professional chefs through the sponsorship of culinary events like Kingston Restaurant Week. This includes the JCDC Dutch Pot award, food festivals and also by supporting partners in the baking, food processing and quantity food preparation sectors.

Mr. Graham notes, "We get involved in food festivals and contests for chefs to sponsor and encourage professionalism in food preparation."

As the Christmas holidays approach, Graham says, "We are fine-tuning our activities and are going overboard in our preparations to ensure that our customers, both household and commercial, will have adequate supplies delivered in good time. We will also be doing something to create added value for the Christmas period."

Gas Pro congratulates all its customers who are participating in The Gleaner-sponsored Kingston Restaurant Week, and will be ensuring that the LPG they use will be delivered in good time, to burn a flame that is both clean and safe.
