SuperClubs executive Chairman, John Issa, and his popular brand of Caribbean resorts have won two of the most coveted awards of Caribbean World magazine. Issa was named the 'Premier Hotelier of the Year,' while SuperClubs won the 'Best Super Inclusive Resort of the Year' award Thursday night.

Both honours, determined by the magazine's readers, recognise excellence in travel and real estate throughout the Caribbean.

"We are delighted to present the award of 'Premier Hotelier of the Year 2006' to Mr. John Issa in recognition of the huge contribution he has made in raising standards in hospitality throughout the Caribbean," said Ray Carmen, publisher of the award-winning international Caribbean World magazine. "We are also pleased to give the award for 'Best Super-Inclusive Resort of the Year' to SuperClubs, which has consistently demonstrated excellence and value."

Delighted

In accepting the award, Mr. Issa responded: "What a delight to win such prestigious awards, especially on our 30th anniversary year! This is a wonderful endorsement of our hard work, and our commitment towards leading the Caribbean hospitality industry towards ever higher ideals."

Mr. Issa introduced the all-inclusive concept to Jamaica in 1976 with Negril Beach Village, now Hedonism II. Over the past three decades, he has continuously improved the brand, and its offerings, creating and establishing the Caribbean's only super-inclusive vacations. SuperClubs operates eight resorts in Jamaica; and one each in Curaçao, The Bahamas, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic; plus two in Cuba. The properties fall into three brand categories: the AAA Four-Diamond Grand Lido Resorts & Spas, the active and family-friendly Breezes Resorts, and the playfully sexy Hedonism Resorts.

SuperClubs also operates two affiliate properties in Jamaica; the family resort Starfish Trelawny, and Rooms on the Beach in Ocho Rios; as well as three Sonesta properties in Brazil, including the recently-opened Sonesta Brasilia.
