Peggy McLean's year-long sojourn from the local fashion market has left many Jamaican women wanting, so all anticipated the eye-catching creations she brought with her from New York for a fashion show hosted by the Kiwanis Club of New Kingston at the Jamaica Pegasus on Sunday.
Clothing from Angela's on Merrick Avenue joined Peggy's pieces on the runway, and both collections of, 'real clothes for real people', went over well with the 'real' women who filled the audience.
As expected, the clothing was exquisite but the models who wore them made the show that much more interesting.
Local personalities, Ambassador Madge Barrett, now looking fabulous with her new, short-cropped 'Fro; Blossom O'Meally-Nelson, Beverly Cork, Christine King, Gerthlyn Holman, Margaret Riley, Monique Vanstankeren, Victoria Meeks, Patsy Lewis, Leigh Bennett and Saran Williams strutted around the room dressed to the nine's by either of the designers, each adding their own flair on the runway. Professional model Reshima Hemmings from Pulse, also made appearances on the show. After all, some real women are tall and slender.
