THE EDITOR, Sir:
This is an open letter to the Ministry of Education and Culture, craving the attention of the Permanent Secretary.
In 2002, I got a Computer Loan from the J.T.A. On negotiating the loan, I had to complete a salary deduction authorisation form at the J.T.A. office for the monthly repayment of the loan. The very next month after the loan was granted, the deduction commenced.
The loan has been repaid from January of 2006, but the deduction has not ceased. I took up the matter with the J.T.A., and on no less than three occasions, notification was conveyed to both the regional office (Region 5) and head office for the deduction to cease. On two of these occasions I took the letter from the J.T.A.'s regional office to the regional office of the Ministry of Education and Culture myself.
How could it be so easy for the monthly deduction of the sum to repay the loan to commence, but so difficult for it to cease now that the loan has been repaid?
I work at the Plowden All-Age School in Manchester. The school's code is 12/043. My teacher's number is 233459.
I am, etc.,
