Ravens 'A' tag Speg 'B'
published: Monday | November 13, 2006

Ravens 'A' tripled Speg 'B's score on Saturday, beating the Junior team 36-12 in the Jamaica Netball Association Jamaica National Open League at the Leila Robinson courts.

Although full of young players, Speg 'B' gave their best against the advanced Ravens 'A' until the last centre pass.

"We expected to lose. We started out well but I think we got discouraged. They actually won Junior League last year but the team is now still coming together," Lorona Montague, acting coach for Speg 'B', said after the match.

While Speg 'B' played as hard as they could, the senior Ravens were not in all their glory as the team made many careless passes, was not always focused and missed many shots.

"I think the team's performance was a bit sloppy. Our game is not 100 per cent but I guess you can't blame them because we have been through many hitches and glitches. Hopefully by the end of the season we will sort ourselves out. We were 'A' League champions but we were a bit off today," captain Keisha Clarke said.

In other matches Skibo 'B' beat Ocho Rios Magics 31-21, Jamaica Defence Force defeated G.C. Foster College 24-13, New Kingston Raiders stopped Tredegar Park 23-20, Ravens 'B' had a walkover for their Jetsetters 'C' fixture, De La Vega fell 11-12 to Central Links, Bridgeport ran over Hagley Park 34-3, Hampshire 'A' beat Whitehorses 30-12 and GPN Archers demolished Red Challenge 21-12.
