PROMOTED Naggo Head still remained rooted at the bottom of the Wray and Nephew National Premier League table as they went down 2-3 to Montego Bay's Wadadah in a thrilling finish at Spanish Town Prison Oval yesterday.
Naggo Head should have easily walked away with three points but were let down by poor finishing from their forwards, especially Kirk Ramsey who missed at least five 'sitters'.
Naggo Head paid for those misses as in the space of three minutes Wadadah went two goals up. In the 20th minute Andre Reid dribbled upfield before passing to Daniel Ricketts on an acute angle. Ricketts made no mistake by kicking past the goalkeeper to put his team in the lead.
Beautiful goal
Three minutes later the St. James team increased their lead when their top striker Jermaine Anderson scored a beauty from some 25 yars out. He received a high ball and hit a one-time volley powerfully past
the keeper, a margin they maintained to half-time.
Wadadah went further ahead in the 69th minute when Christopher Currie's left-footed free-kick just outside the 18 yards box gave goalkeeper Troy Watson no chance.
However, the home team showed a lot of fight in the final 10 minutes as Ramsey scored in the 80th minute and substitute Nicardo Williams in the 83rd gave their team a glimmer of hope.
