Men in danger
published: Tuesday | November 14, 2006

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I am deeply concerned about our nation's men. It is clear to see that the forces of darkness have really instigated a serious plan for their demise. Look at the age of those being killed daily, 18-26 years. Look at those locked up in prisons, look at those walking the streets not in their right mind.

I am making an appeal through this medium to all mothers and fathers, whether your children are grown adults, children of school age or disobedient teenagers, please build back the family altars in the home and sensitise your children concerning the things of God and the consequence of sin. The problem we are having in Jamaica is a spiritual one, in that, there is a mighty battle going on in the spirit realm for the souls of our men and young boys. What shall we do? Sit by and watch them being butchered each day? God forbid, let's do something. I am wondering if the older men who are seasoned in their life programme, living sober lives with proper values and attitudes, could implement some recovery programmes for our young men. Some of them are drop-outs of schools, there are those who came out of dysfunctional families, they really don't have a goal for their lives, except using weapons and drugs at all cost.

I am, etc.,

CYNTHIA DOVE (Mrs.)

Westgreen, MoBay
