Response to Food Story
The Editor, Sir:
While I appreciate The Gleaner's continued interest in Snow sparkling mint beverage, I was disappointed to read about the taste test conducted with your editorial staff and the results published in the Nov. 2 Food section.
I certainly recognise Snow sparkling mint beverage appeals to the most discerning tastes and it is not for everyone. Although I do not question the outcome of your taste test, I would have preferred that Snow be sampled properly - served ice cold and not poured over ice from a warm bottle - the way it is meant to be tasted.
As a company, Snow Beverages believes in the Jamaican market, and we believe our delicious product has a place among the many exotic and unique flavours of the island. We have made a substantial investment of time, money and faith to support our business in Jamaica and to make Snow available to all those who enjoy drinking it after dinner, in cocktails recipes, or on a hot summer day.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite all Jamaicans islandwide to try Snow sparkling mint beverage in an independent sampling so they may decide for themselves whether Snow meets their individual tastes.
I hope you will give Snow sparkling mint beverage a fair shake to help make it at home on the wonderful island of Jamaica.
Sincerely,
Stu Strumwasser
