Man interrogated for Anglican priest's murder
published: Thursday | November 16, 2006

A MAN who turned himself in to the Stony Hill police after he was implicated in last Sunday's murder of Anglican priest, Father Richard Johnson, is still in custody.

Yesterday, the Constabulary Communication Network reported that the man, identified only as 'Bam Bam', was being interrogated by police.

He has not been charged.

The man turned up at the Stony Hill precinct on Monday afternoon after police said they were looking for him to help in their investigations.

A frequent visitor

They said he was a frequent visitor to the St. Jude's Anglican Church where Father Johnson was rector.

The 45-year-old priest's body was found at 9:30 p.m. by police after the church caretaker heard him screaming for help.

Father Johnson's body had multiple stab wounds, the police reported.
