Sosheba Griffiths lives a charmed life, landing the cover of Teen Vogue after a mere five days in New York. According to Saint International, Sosheba's breakthrough is said to be the fastest any Jamaican model has entered the international
fashion market.
Originally from Trench Town, Sosheba has already surpassed the expectations of many, yet for the young starlet there are no limits. Discovered by Saint International boss, Deiwght Peters, Sosheba was a top eight finalist in the CVM Faces of Summer Model Search and subsequently went on to win the Fashion Face of Summer 2005.
Upon arriving in New York recently, she was kept busy doing developmental projects with some of the city's leading photographers. Days later, she was flown to Los Angeles for a special appearance at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Spring 2007 Collections. There Sosheba strutted down the runway for some of New York's top designers, including Louis Verdad and Kevan Hall.
Peters is overjoyed at Sosheba's success, confirming her representation in the fashion capital Milan with the high-profile Women Model Management. "I believe Sosheba's innocence, sweet personality, amazing body and fresh look will make her a star in short order," Peters stated.
Energetic and excited
José Covarrubias, a booker from Elite New York, commented, "The clients have been raging about her energy and obvious excitement to be a model."
Sosheba is currently in New York, where she has also garnered attention from Sephora, Cosmo Girl, Marie Claire, Jil Sander and Nylon magazines. In an interview with The Gleaner published on October 1, Sosheba said, "Living in the ghetto, I never expected to reach so far. If I never did modelling I wouldn't go nowhere, I would still be selling on the streetside. As I was growing up, I was always shy and nervous and when I started modelling I started to feel confident."
The Teen Vogue shoot will be released next February.
