Police Commissioner Lucius Thomas has ordered an audit into the welfare and federation funds of the Police Federation.
The order was based on the request of Corporal Raymond Wilson, chairman of the federation.
The probe stems from the arrest last week of former Woman Constable Camille Richards.
Richards, who resigned from the force after she was arrested, is now facing 34 counts of larceny as a servant involving $1 million.
Richards, who is on bail in the sum of $300,000, appeared yesterday before Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.
Attorney-at-law Sean Kinghorn, who is representing Richards, asked that she not be pleaded until her next appearance in court. Mr. Kinghorn said he needed time to study the statements in the matter because that could shorten the proceedings. The application was granted.
The allegations are that, between May last year and August this year, Richards, who was assigned as a secretary at the federation, allegedly encashed several cheques after forging the signatures of executive officers of the federation.
