The Joy of Living Red
published: Friday | November 17, 2006

The sound of hoofbeats and the joy of living red permeated the air on Saturday as Red Stripe hosted its last Superstakes Race Day.

The crowds came out to see the event as the Red Stripe top brass plan on supporting the sport of kings via new methods so this was the last Red Stripe racing spectacle to be seen. So this was a chance to go out with a bang and guests did not want to miss it.

Ladies delved into their closets to find the perfect red and white ensemble to match the passion and fire of Red Stripe's new Live Red campaign. And live red they did, whether it was dancing or showing off their outfits or just sitting back and enjoying some of the trademark cool beer or any other beverage. Many guests were seen doing their calculations before scurrying off to place their bets and then getting out the binoculars to watch the thoroughbreds as they gallop around the track.

Great food

As with any Red Stripe race day, the food is always top-notch and the attractions at this year's event were the Chinese food booth and husky lobsters fresh off the grill. Entertainer, Jerry D, was still keeping the vibes going with his ever-energetic style. He gave away several prizes including cash vouchers by getting some brave individuals to either spell some ridiculously long words or anything that came to the self-proclaimed vibemaster's head!

Dance Theatre Expressions showed the audience some nifty moves, while hot models showed off some of famed designer Biggy's collection. Cezar, minus his trademark guitar, did a few of his songs before the feature race that took place around 4:30 p.m. Tessanne Chin had the audience asking for more after her three-song stint which included her current popular hit, Hideaway.

( L - R ) Fashion from Biggy was on show at the Red Stripe Superstakes Race Day.   Tip your hat to the young miss as she models one of Biggy's creations at the Red Stripe Superstakes Race Day.   Short skirt and rocking the Red Stripe brand across her chest. Seems fitting!
