Gregory new JAMPRO head
published: Saturday | November 25, 2006

Gregory

Robert Gregory, executive director of the HEART Trust NTA will become the new president of Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), effective March 1, 2007.

He will replace Pat Francis who headed JAMPRO for a decade before stepping down in May to take up a post as a deputy general-secretary at the Brussels headquarters of the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group of countries.

Sancia Templer has been acting since Ms. Francis' resignation.

Mr. Gregory, who has been executive director at the HEART Trust NTA for the past 15 years, brings to JAMPRO a wealth of experience in the areas of management, human resource and manpower development.

Workforce training

During his tenure at HEART, he oversaw the restructuring of the organisation, resulting in a more effective enabling facility for occupational and workforce training. He has also represented the Jamaican Government internationally on labour, productivity and workforce issues.

Carole Beckford, senior communications consultant at JAMPRO, said Mr. Gregory brings to the organisation a thorough knowledge of the export manufacturing sector.
