LETTER OF THE DAY - Constitutional reforms needed
The Editor, Sir: The Westminster system as it is called is a product of our colonial past. This system is not even used by England, in the form that it is presented to us. It is a product of an attempt to reform the English system...

Men are victims too, Portia

The Editor, Sir: Recent newspaper reports quoted the Prime Minister as saying the Government was committed to protecting the rights of all Jamaicans. In essence, the articles were about protecting women and children from abuse and violence.

Overpaid speech writers?

The Editor, Sir: I was absolutely shocked by the amount of money paid to the Prime Minister's speech writers. I mean, writing a speech takes half an hour tops, and then for the research - well, how long can that really take?

Classify murders to reduce fears

The Editor, Sir: The spate of murders in the society cannot be overlooked; however, the level of resultant fears can be reduced through the release of additional information, which is important to ensure clarity within the public domain.

Political fallacies

The Editor, Sir: For over 17 years this country has ignored the destructive actions and tendencies of the governing PNP administration. We have not analysed but rather chosen to ignore the unprecedented corrupt, inept, and despicable goings on.
