Spanish Town, St. Catherine:

A man accused of killing his mother and two brothers has been determined to be unfit to plead.

The psychiatric report for Christopher Oliver, who is charged with killing his mother and two brothers, was read yesterday in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court and states that he is not fit to plead at this time.

Following the reading of the report, Resident Magistrate Lorna Errar Gayle ordered that further psychiatric examination be conducted on the accused, who is an auditor by profession, for his next court hearing on January 8. He was remanded until then.

No representation

When he appeared in court, Mr. Oliver was not represented despite the Resident Magistrate's request on the previous occasion that his relatives secure the services of the Legal Aid Clinic.

Mr. Oliver's appearance in court arose out of an incident that occurred on the night of September 21 in the Twickenham Heights area, during which he allegedly attacked his mother, Myrtle Oliver, 47, and brothers Omeil and Omar, 16 and 14 respectively.

According to reports, he used a knife and a sledge hammer to bludgeon the three to death. He was picked up by police the following morning in the Hampton Green area of St. Catherine.

This is his third appearance in court and he is yet to be represented by a lawyer.
