The Mona Institute of Applied Sciences (MIAS) currently offers for sale the world's first multimedia CD compilation of Caribbean Ascidians, Caribbean Sea Squirts: The Goodbody Collection. The CD is the result of a successful collaboration between The Mona Institute of Applied Sciences (MIAS), Professor Ivan Goodbody, and the Environmental Foundation of Jamaica.
'Caribbean Sea Squirts - The Goodbody Collection' documents the Ascidians of the Caribbean using photographs, diagrams, voice, and text by Professor Goodbody. This work will be used in teaching and species identification by students, researchers, marine biologists and environmentalists locally and internationally.
Review
The CD has been given very positive reviews including one by Dr. Patricia Kott AO, Queensland Museum, Brisbane Australia, one of the foremost experts in the biology of ascidians, who commented, "The collection will ensure that successive generations of students and others interested in the marine environment will have access to his knowledge of these mysterious and often beautiful creatures; and they will enjoy the very real
satisfaction that comes from recognising the species and understanding something of their role and
significance in marine ecosystems."
