Wolmer's celebration
published: Saturday | December 2, 2006

Wolmer's Boys' School will be celebrating 92 years of football with games involving former greats at their school grounds at Heroes' Circle this evening.

The first game of the day begins at 1:00 p.m. with the teachers, led by Principal Dave Myrie, taking on their Colts (Under-16) team for the Joseph 'Joe' Bury Memorial Trophy.

Later at 2:30 p.m., Jeffery Mordecai and Franklyn Lawrence will kick off the feature game between the present Manning Cup team, which was eliminated in the second round of this year's competition, and an Old Boys' All-Star team.

The Old Boys' team will include former national player and present coach of Portmore United, Paul Young, national representative Khari Stephenson, Waterhouse midfielder, Vincent 'Junie' Earle, his team-mate and legendary left-footer Irvino English, Steve 'Bubbler G' Garwood, Alex Thomas, and Marvin Henry, the man who once held the record for most goals ever in a Manning Cup season.
