THE EDITOR, Sir:
I think the following will drastically reduce political tribalism and the cost of elections and election campaigns.
We should recognise that members of the two political parties are all our brothers and sisters and since communism in all its forms and expressions is no longer condoned by any of our parties, party colours should be outlawed as being divisive and not conducive to unity of our people.
To reduce conflicts and costs, election campaigns should be limited to not more than 30 days after the announcement of elections to the House of Representatives and to Parish Councils, and both elections should be conducted at the same time.
Incidentally, I think our people should strive to eliminate priminis-terial government and all other forms of domestic imperialism and demand as pure as possible democratic governance in the promotion of our freedom. For many years, I have actually scaled down my law practice, and in the main, only dealing with matters which have been clogged up in the system, and so I am available to work with all those who are not committed to any political party and who share my view, and they may contact me to start a pressure group to deal with both Government and Opposition.
I am, etc.,
