The Editor, Sir:
Crime, violence, poverty, moral decay, and political corruption are not befitting words to describe a land that God has blessed. Does the spirit of God still rest upon the island of Jamaica?
God declares in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14: "If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land".
God has set moral laws for his people. These laws are still binding. Jamaicans need to get their Bibles and take another look at God's Ten Commandment Law. Exodus 20:2-17. No powers on earth can reverse Jamaica's plight now or in the future. God Almighty will have to step in, but only if everyone turns to God with a repentant heart.
I am, etc.,
