And so, after a fabulous wedding in Florida, businessman, Joe Matalon, and his bride, the fabulous Bernadette McKinley-Matalon, have jetted on to Paris, France, for the very first leg of their honeymoon.

And my dears, whilst the couples' return to Jamaica is not expected until some time next week, not so their wedding cake. The specially prepared and packaged pieces were jetted into Kingston, within a few days of the exchange of nuptials, addressed to a critically hand-picked short list of friends and immediate family. The buzz is, it's all that, and then some!

And fabulously divine is how those who were guests over the weekend at the flawlessly chic and intimate little do that hotel tycoon and businessman, Gordon 'Butch' Stewart, hosted at his Ocho Rios Rio Chico estate, in honour of former prime minister and more recently, retired Leader of the Opposition, and now distinguished fellow at the UWI, The Most Hon. Edward and his wife, Carla Seaga.

My daahlings, not only was the affair one red-hot social number, it was the most coveted invite. And luvs, y'all know that there are lots and lots of bruised and wounded egos around as the buzz is there were hordes of hopefuls who were not only hankering after one, but publicly voiced their hope of making the cut. But, as it was planned in the beginning, so it was in the end - faultlessly intimate!

Now, the news of those soliciting invites would have been delightfully entertaining, however, were it not for the fact that some of those soliciting were sworn political enemies of the Seagas.

Now, y'all ever see my trial?

Nation's Capital

Meanwhile, and back in the nation's capital, world travellers and Maltese nationals, the fabulously wealthy, Ron and Francesca De Maja, jetted into Kingston, from nearly three weeks in Cancun, Mexico, and opted to try the much vaunted dining experience that is on offer at the very chic Velisa's Restaurant, on Devon Road, in New Kingston, and honeys, they are still singing the praises of the culinary outing.

Suffice it to say, and in their own words, it was "One of our best dining experiences, ever! And most certainly, our best to date, in Jamaica".

On Saturday night, in the fabulous climes of swanky Old Stony Hill, guests gathered at the charming residence of Lincoln and Barbara Robinson, for a night of soup and mento, and pumpkins, when it was all over, those privileged to attend were still raving about the fab experience.

Wonderful Experiences

And speaking of fabulous experiences, fresh from their after- investiture soiree hosted at the Terra Nova poolside, last week Wednesday, Tom and Rose Tavares-Finson, threw one very smart dinner party at their Stony Hill home. It was not only a charmer, it was faultless.

Tavares-Finson was part of the newly formed Jamaican Electoral Commission, and the elevation of its commissioners in an official ceremony hosted by Governor- General Professor Kenneth Hall and Mrs. Hall.

My daahlings, now their after-investiture do at the Terra Nova, was fabulous with Opposition Leader Bruce Golding; Tavares-Finson's siblings; Janet Robinson and William Tavares-Finson and dashing, wife Sandy Tavares-Finson; friends and colleagues, including MPs, Karl Samuda, Babsy Grange; Senator Prudence Kidd-Deans; Honorary Icelandic Consul, Robert MacMillan; former JDF Chief-of-Staff, Brigadier Rudolph Green; Professor Errol Miller; George Soutar; the oh so elegant Dorothy Pine-McLarty; George Thomas, in from Montego Bay for the occasion; Peter Champagnie; Saleem Lazarus; and a number of others.

On Tuesday evening, the Tavares-Finsons opened their doors to a small group of friends for what can only be described as a fabulous dinner, with a difference, and then some!

My daahlings, indeed, it was the Tavares-Finsons do, but it was Francesca De Maja, with her husband, Ron De Maja, acting as taster-in-chief, who commandeered the kitchen and cooked up one fabulous Italian storm. When it was all over, guests were simply reluctant to call it a night!

Fabulous proportions

But daahlings, back to the meat of the evening, as dinner was a testimony of equally fabulous proportions as Francesca De Maja not only donned an apron and cooked up a memorable Italian fare, it turned out to be an intimately marvelous evening!

Among those at the dinner were Harold Brady; squiring Christene King; Anthony and Angie Harris and their fabulous daughter and beauty, Chrystelle Harris; Yogi and Clare Fernandez; Seyon Hanson and his companion, the lovely Marsha Wilson; and UNICEF's Bertrand Bainvel, and his parents, Abel and Pascal Bainvel, visiting from Paris, France.

And my darlings, the age of Sagittarius is upon us and in full flight!

Last Sunday, Ed Bartlett might have been celebrating his birthday, but for him it was all politics as this JLP stalwart was to be found not out celebrating, but locked in his party's central executive meeting!

On December 1, however, it was all about realtor, Andrew Baston, as he and wife, Moya Baston, who will celebrate on the 13th, made it an intimate affair by celebrating with dinner at Marguerite's By The Sea, on the Hip-Strip, in Montego Bay. It was fine wine and dinner hosted under the auspices of Marguerite's and Paul Hanworth's 1860 wines.

Now, on Tuesday, Karlene Orr-Kellond, celebrated her special day, but come same day next week, Tuesday being the 12th, her hubby, Peter Kellond, of Half Moon Resort, in Montego Bay, will celebrate his birthday.

Meanwhile, on Monday of next week, it will be all about Pastor Howard Francis, of Lime Hall, in the fine parish of St. Ann, as he celebrates his birthday.

The following day being the 12th however, it will be a national affair at least for supporters of the ruling PNP as its president and Prime Minister, The Most Hon. Portia Simpson-Miller will celebrate her birthday, in office and on the hustling.

My daahlings, fabulous wishes all-around, and with Champagne toasts and Beluga treats!

And sadly, the political and press affairs officer of the British High Commission, here, Third Secretary, Mark Waller, leaves Jamaica, this Monday, at the end of his second tour of duty, here, which saw him serving a total of seven years in this fair island.

Indeed, we wish him and his family all the best as they relocate to London, pending their next posting!
