Robert Bryan, Executive Director, Local Organising Committee.

Robert Bryan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Jamaica Local Organising Committee (LOC) for ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 has announced an 11-member team which will be responsible for the production and execution of CWC's opening ceremony on Sunday, March 11, 2007.

In presenting the organising cast to the public recently Bryan described them "as the best creative and technical minds available in Jamaica. "

Members of the group are Martin Lewis, Jamaica LOC Opening Ceremony Manager; Brian St. Juste, Delano Forbes, Lawrence Tulloch, Carol Lawes, Monica Lawrence, Peter Ashbourne, L'Antoinette Stines, Bert Rose, Jerome Hamilton and Lisa Jenoure.

"We strongly believe that this team has the capacity to get the job done. We are working with the other eight LOCs to deliver a first-class event that the region will be proud of," said Bryan. "I can state definitively that this event will set the tone for the duration of the tournament."

The opening ceremony of ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 takes place at Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium on Jamaica's north western coast and will herald the start of 59 days of international cricket.

Martin Lewis who has the responsibility for managing the opening ceremony disclosed that the showpiece start of the tournament "is dubbed Caribbean Energy."

"It will communicate in no uncertain terms the influence of Caribbean music and culture on the world. The two-hour long show will consist of performances from superstars from Jamaica, the region and overseas. I would therefore urge everyone to go out now and buy their tickets to what will be a spectacular event," he said.
