"Tonight is singers night", announced Christine Bell, the evening's entertainment guide at Innovative Ideas 'Fire and Ice' Christmas party, held at their Ripon Road headquarters on Tuesday evening.
Innovative Ideas, in their usual creative manner, commissioned cabaret singers Samatha Gooden and Michael Harris to lead a chorus of Christmas carols, inviting the participation of the guests who were given copies of the words to a few popular carols.
"Sing di chorus, clap your han!" They all sang in unison, making a lively ending to a lively evening.
Earlier on there was a fashion show featuring clothing by D'Choix Boutique, and also young designer Natalie Dixon, who was making her runway debut.
Another highlight of the evening was the ice cream stand where two of Santa Claus' daughters (not the wife because they were too young), served up ice cream from La Bella Italia. Vanilla and chocolate were the regular favourites being offered, along with an interesting sour sop sorbet that went over well with the tasters.
Among those who turned out to party with the innovators were Wyvolyn Gager; Mark Myers and his wife Karen; Tracy-Ann Dale; Andrew Lawrence; Glen Campbell; Berl Francis; David Radlein; Donald Patterson and Beverly Newell.
