LETTER OF THE DAY - Black apology for slavery? Hogwash!
The Editor, Sir: Response to the Letter of the Day, 'Blacks, not whites, should apologise for slavery' - hogwash! To think that someone had the gall to write something as treacherous as that and then to include his email address is equally puzzling.

Apologise? For WHAT?

The Editor, Sir: I read Xavier Newton-Bryant's letter titled 'Blacks, not whites, should apologise for slavery', and I am deeply disturbed by the lack of historical rigour as well as the narrow characterisation of Africans, slavery, and the slave trade.


Putting people over politics

The Editor, Sir: It was announced elsewhere in the media that the Works Minister, Robert Pickersgill, revealed on Friday, December 8, that a new bridge will be constructed in Yallahs, St. Thomas.


We will miss Perry Henzel

The Editor, Sir: Upon returning to the United States from Europe, we were deeply saddened to hear the news of Perry Henzel's passing. We got to know Perry, Sally and the rest of the Henzel family in the mid-1990s.
