Great job Oberlin!
published: Tuesday | December 12, 2006

The EDITOR, Sir:

In December of last year, I responded to a writer who felt that Oberlin High weren't the true winners of All-Together Sing, but rather Cornwall College. One season later, I feel the need to comment on their progress.

For all those who thought Oberlin High shouldn't have won last year, well, they did it again! This rural school tucked in the hills of St. Andrew has proven to Jamaica that they have the talent and have stamped their mark as the top high school choir in Jamaica. Throughout the competition, their performances were consistent and one could easily see why they were winners last year.

Cornwall College, who had advanced to the finals last year, were left behind this year as they could not keep up with the standard set by Oberlin High. The team at Oberlin as well as the other finalists must be commended for their hard work for they have proven that rural schools know how to compete. As defending champions, Oberlin High did just that - defended their title and defended it well.

I am, etc.,

NATASHA IRONS

Glengoffe P.O., St. Catherine
