The Editor, Sir:
The Sunday Gleaner of December 10 carried an article on the state of Ocho Rios. I am appalled at the state of the town that has been such a beauty and memories to many visitors and Jamaicans alike.
I now reside in South Florida, and daily I meet people who have visited the town and remarked how beautiful it is, and how they want to revisit.
If the town is in that state, how can it provide memories that are pleasant for first-time visitors? What is happening, are we killing the goose that laid the golden egg?
The businessmen and businesswomen in the town who are making their fortunes from operating in the town need to form an alliance and get proactive to save face, save their business and reclaim the town from thugs, pimps and other undesirables.
I am, etc.,
