The case of the two security guards who allegedly robbed $200 million from a Guardsman Ltd. armoured truck has been transferred from the Gun Court in Kingston to the St. Ann Circuit Court for mention on January 8.

The two are Harvey Green, of West Bay Farm Road, Kingston 11 and Copeland Samuels, of Waltham Park Road, Kingston 11 who are facing charges of robbery with aggravation and illegal possession of firearm. They were employed to Guardsman Ltd. at the time of the incident.

It is being alleged that the money and two firearms were stolen from a Guardsman Ltd. armoured vehicle on the Haddon Pen main road near Walkerswood, St. Ann on March 2, 2005.

The allegations are that Green and Samuels travelled with two other co-workers from Kingston to pick up a quantity of cash at the Ocho Rios office of Guardsman Ltd. On reaching a section of the Haddon Pen main road, one of the guards, who was travelling in the front of the vehicle, allegedly pulled his gun, pointed it in the face of the driver and ordered him to stop. The driver was handcuffed to the steering wheel of the armoured vehicle.

The other guard, who was travelling in the back of the vehicle, allegedly held up and disarmed the crewmaster of his firearm.

They were reportedly joined by two other men in a motor car which pulled up beside the armoured truck. It is further alleged that the men from the motor car, along with the two security guards, then packed money into the motor car and left the area.

Following intensive investigations by the police the accused men were apprehended this year.
