The Editor, Sir:On Thursday, December 14, Marion Campbell, from South Florida wrote that the businessmen and businesswomen in the town of Ocho Rios, who are making their fortunes from operating in the town, need to form an alliance and get proactive to save face, save their business and reclaim the town from thugs, pimps and other undesirables, and I must agree with her.
I have listened to the complaint of business people in Jamaica and all they do is blame government. The people are the government and they would do nothing to help.
The typical Jamaican, everywhere in the diaspora, has the most complaints about Jamaica and yet whenever they are asked to help in solving any problem, everyone becomes silent.
Wake up Jamaicans, it is on all of us to save Jamaica, even if you live overseas. Why can't we have a clean-up day in Ocho Rios? What are the service clubs doing to help in solving the problems? All they do is blame government, instead of doing something on their own initiative.
I am, etc.,
