WESTERN BUREAU:

It was a milk white affair and Montegonians turned out attired in their white outfits to revel throughout the night in the ruins of the Fairfield Plantation Hotel on Saturday night.

Dubbed the 'Milk, All White All Inclusive Christmas Experience', the Appleton-sponsored party was put on by Diplomatik Entertainment, which has roots in Kingston and Montego Bay.

Revellers utilised spaces around the pool deck or just about any space they could find to dance.

"The location has a feel about it. It is far from communities so the music does not disturb anyone," said Saunjay McIntosh, co-founder of Diplomatik Entertainment. "We are using this event as a launching pad for us to be on the ATI line-up in Negril next year," he said.

Diplomatik's all white party held in Kingston in the summer, was a success, Saunjay stated, so they decided to give it a shot in the western city.

Drinks on the house

Disc jockeys 'Crazy Neil' (left), attached to Lexus Remix sound system, and 'Dutty Dex', of Flava sound system based in Montego Bay, beat boxing and singing together, while their friends look on.

Food, light drinks and semi-strong beverages were on the house and were being served from the bottom of a waterless pool, while hard liquor fetched between $500 per cup to $13,000 per bottle. These included Remy Martin, Hipnotiq, Moët, Hennessey and Couversier.

The Fairfield Plantation Hotel was constructed decades ago and was once revered as one of the top-notch hotels in Montego Bay, but it has remained in ruins for the past several years now. Despite its dilapidated appearance, it seems to still be a favourite party place for many.

Revellers utilised spaces around the pool deck or just about any space they could find to dance. So why was that place chosen. "The location has a feel about it. It is far from communities so the music does not disturb anyone," said Saunjay McIntosh, co-founder of Diplomatik Entertainment. Diplomatik's all white party held in Kingston in the summer, was a success, Saunjay stated, so they decided to give it a shot in the western city. "All-inclusive parties are not very common in Montego Bay so we believe it was ideal for this location," added Dameon Shakes, also co-founder.

Diplomatik Entertainment said their role is to plan and promote premium themed events. "We are planning an event for Ocho Rios for the Easter weekend and another for Negril in the summer of 2007," Shakes said. The next all-inclusive party planned for Montego Bay will be December next year.
