Mourning Willoughby
published: Saturday | December 23, 2006

The Editor, Sir:

David Chen and the team at Voicing for Jamaica write on behalf of our fellow Jamaicans here in the United Kingdom who grew up listening to 'Uncle Neville'.

It saddens our heart to know that he has died in this unfortunate fashion. Without doubt, Jamaica has lost one of our well blessed and respected media mentors.

As a Jamaican, living here in the U.K., who is also connected with the media, 'Uncle Neville' was a great inspiration in my early days while living back home - as from time to time I would listen to his programmes - and how he would present his unique style which was extremely interesting and informative - which was the main reasons why he was seen as a true pioneer in the Jamaican media world.

I am, etc.,

DAVID CHEN
